In the heart of Harburg city center, at Neue Straße 44, a listed brick church is getting a new purpose: from February 2027, the Stadtküken will move in here. Where the bells of the tower once called the neighborhood together, a place is being created where children can arrive safely, experience nature outdoors, and become a little braver every day.
During the renovation, we proceeded carefully: the old building structure is preserved, supplemented by a new floor in sustainable timber construction. This creates bright rooms with their own charm, where every child can grow as fast or as slow as they wish. In the former nave – now bright and high – the day begins together, and from there it goes directly into a sheltered inner courtyard, a quiet place to take a breath. Around the historic building, spacious outdoor areas with old trees invite children to run, climb, explore, and go on small excursions.
The Glockenturm thus remains what it has always been: a meeting point in the heart of the district. Here, families get to know each other, and children grow up together. Our Stadtküken team accompanies each child with experience, heart, and an open mind for what they currently need.

Kita Glockenturm is very well accessible by bus and train – from Harburg itself as well as from neighboring districts. The S-Bahn station Harburg Rathaus (S3 and S5) is about a five-minute walk away; from there, you can reach Hamburg Hauptbahnhof in about 20 minutes. It's only one station to Harburg long-distance train station, and many bus lines stop near the Kita in the city center.
Parking
Those who prefer to walk or cycle can also easily reach the Kita – bicycle parking spaces are available directly on the premises. The shops in Harburg city center are right next door, practical when family life is busy.
